MAEER's Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT), Pune, came into being in June 1983 with the objective to educate and train, young and deserving students in the field of engineering and technology. Since its inception, it has been striving for the betterment of the society through value based education system. With over 30,000 students across varied disciplines under its umbrella, MIT Group of Institutions has achieved tremendous success in a short span of time and reflects excellence in the fields of Engineering, Medicine, Research, Management, Primary and Secondary Education, Peace Studies, Environment and Pollution Control and also towards promoting Human Values and attaining the ultimate goal of World Peace.

The founder members of the Academy are committed to contribute their experience, expertise and resources for the development of technical education as well as for the industrial and the economic growth of the community and the country at large.

With the co-operation of many experts, and devoted, noble men and women, who have come forward to support this cause of developing technical education and research facility, MAEER aspires to soon achieve a good reputation in the academic arena of our country.

The sole aim of the founders of MAEER is to make it a "Centre of Excellence in the field of Education and Research".

With the sole objective of meeting the long felt need of a centre of engineering and educational research which would meet the challenges of the present and the future technical advancements of the fast changing world, MAEER, Pune, was established as a society and trust under Societies Regn. Act. No. Maharashtra Academy/1394/83 dated 21st June 1983 and Trust Regn. No. F-2555 Pune dated 24th Oct. 83.

The emblem of "Maharashtra Academy Of Engineering And Educational Research, Pune" truly depicts and speaks of the aim of the Academy and its motto is:
