     MANET is conducting End Semester Examination as per following rules framed by Yashwantrao Chavan

     Maharashtra Open University, Nashik.


  • Continuous Assessment (CA):
    This shall be “Open Book Formative Evaluation without Supervision” by the Counselor for the respective course at each study center. Aim of this component is not to assess student's learning but to provoke and motivate students for regular and better study. CA for each credit point shall carry 5 marks.

  • End Semester Examination (EE):
    This shall be “Closed Book Summative Evaluation under Supervision” conducted by the university at the designated Exam Centers. Aim of this component is to assess student's learning. EE for each credit point shall carry 20 marks.

  • Frequency of Examinations:
    Normally, End Semester Examination shall be conducted during 5th month of each semester.

  • Tentative dates of Examination:

  • Exam Form Submission :
    Examination form, for all those courses in which he/she wishes to appear for end examination.

  • Standard of Passing:
    For successful completion of any course, student should be exempted from the course or student must get minimum 50% marks, either in end exam or by credit transfer. In addition to this certifying eligibility may specify additional requirements for the award of certification.

  • Maximum No. of Attempts:
    Only during valid registration period, students are allowed to appear maximum 5 times in end examinations, for all those courses where he/she is admitted by the university.

  • Grading Scheme:
    Grade    Necessary Percentage of marks
    Distinction   75% and above
    I class 60% to 74%
    II class Below 60 %

  • Report of End Semester Examination Result:
    Performance of the student will be reported in the Mark-Sheet in terms of actual marks and percentage. Student can improve his/her previous performance for any course by reappearing in End Examination. But, only the best of the past examination performance, of a student in any course will be reported in the Mark-Sheet. For reporting the consolidated performance of a student in the programme, the aggregate percentage of marks for all the specified courses shall be calculated.

  • Verification of Marks:h
    The University does not undertake revaluation of answer scripts/sheets of any course. Only verification of marks is allowed on submission of an application form for the same, which will be available at the university web site. Such duly filled form should be sent directly to the Examination Section of University within a maximum period of 60 days from the date of declaration of result. 'Form and Verification Fee' will be Rs. 100/- (Rs one hundred only)  for the Indian Students or US$25(Twenty Five only) for the foreign students, for each course, against the verification of marks. 'Form and verification fee' are payable only at the time of submission of the form.

  • Performance Improvement:
    Students may improve his examination performance, by reappearing in the end examination for any course, during the valid registration period. But, no performance improvement shall be allowed after completing the degree course. Hence student should attempt for performance improvement before applying for the convocation.

  • ATKT Rule:
  • Cadets are eligible to appear for next semester as per the following rules:
    For Admission to semesters    On Successful completion of following semester
    Semester – V    Semester - I
    Semester – VI  Semester - II
    Semester – VII Semester - III
    Semester – VIII   Semester – IV
  • Admission to Semester V onwards shall be confirmed by the University only when student has attached attested copy of mark list for the specified semesters as mentioned in column 2 of above table. Student is passed in all courses of the specified semesters.

  • Non-payment of Fees:
    During the end examination, admission to exam hall may be prohibited and /or examination results may be withheld, in case of non-payment of "University Programme Fee" and /or "study Centre Fee" and /or "Other Fee".

  • Attendance:
    For better chances of successful completion of the course, regular and full attendance for all counseling sessions is highly recommended to all students. Minimum 80% attendance shall be essential in the classes of each semester. Successful completion of all the specified practical activities and its certification by the respective counselor at study centre and programme coordinator shall be essential before end exam of that practical project work course.

 

MANET RULES & REGULATIONS-

General Discipline

  1. The cadets must be in uniforms at all the times. The uniform must be clean and pressed.
  2. Uniform

    The cadets have to buy 2 sets of shirts and trousers, once in two years i.e at the end of 2nd

    year on payment.


Cadets appearance and uniform  should  be in following manner on all working days in the campus:

  1. Shirt – white color (Clean, especially collar)
  2. Trouser -  Black color with pleats.
  3. Trouser should be worn in such a way that the trouser belt should be one inch below the elbow crease
  4. Epaulette – Button well polished
  5. “Name tag” should be visible easily and “collar tag” to be well polished.
  6. Belt with crest polished and tightly worn.
  7. Leather oxford style black shoes well polished with black socks.
  8. Peak cap with clean crest.
  9. Hair cut – Short without side locks
  10. Properly shaved. 
  11. Ship-in-campus and Workshops: Light blue color Boiler suit, Black color safety shoes and wearing of helmet is compulsory.
  12. It is compulsory for all cadets to take part in physical training, indoor and outdoor games, swimming, parade and other cocurricular activities.
  13. The cadets will be clean shaven, except for the cadets belonging to Sikhism. The hair and moustaches will be properly trimmed for 'Officer like' appearance.
  14. Cadets are not permitted to carry mobile phones to the administrative block. If any cadet is found with mobile phones in the administrative block, it will be immediately confiscated and cadet is liable for disciplinary action.
  15. Cadets must carry out all written and verbal orders of authorities and rank holders (leading cadets) promptly, without any argument.
  16. Cadets will not leave the hostel without prior permission. Unauthorized absence from the hostel will be dealt with severely and may result in suspension from the institute.
  17. Attendance in classes and workshop is compulsory. Under no circumstances will the cadet abstain himself from classes/workshops without prior permission from concerned authorities (Principal/Vice-principal/Warden).
  18. Smoking and consumption of alcohol, tobacco or drugs is strictly prohibited inside the campus. Strict disciplinary action will be taken against the cadets indulging in these activities which may result in expulsion of the cadet from the institute.

Hostel Discipline:

  1. Cadets must not keep large amount of cash in their possession or in hostel.
  2. Cadets must remain in hostel in proper uniform at all times. They are not to loiter in towel or sleeping suits.
  3. Cadets can not bring any type of vehicles (two or four wheeler) inside premises of the institute.
  4. Cadets will use the recreation room etc. only at specified time as instructed by wardens on duty.
  5. Cadets will take their meals/tea etc. in the dinning hall and during specified timings only.
  6. Application for exemption from any activity on medical grounds must be supported by Medical officer's certificate.
  7. Cadets are liable for disciplinary action for being absent from hostel routine, dressed improperly and for in-disciplinary activities.
  8. Lights in the hostel rooms to be switched-off at 2230Hrs. daily.
  9. Stay of cadets Guests or relatives in hostel rooms is strictly prohibited.
  10. Cadets will meet their guests in the warden's office on the ground floor and normally between 1700Hrs. to 1900Hrs. Cadets having un-authorized guests or guests coming at odd hours will be dealt with as per the rules.

 Maximum: Rs 250 per day for 1 ½ times of the ‘days absent without permission’  (Rounded to the next complete day)

 2nd Year Cadet – 1 Week suspension.

 3rd Year Cadet – 2 Week suspension.

 4th Year Cadet – 1 month suspension.

     12.

 Observed out side the campus without permission

 1st Offense – Verbal warning

 2nd Offense – Verbal warning & 1 days suspension

 3rd Offense – Verbal warning & 2 days suspension

 4th and every repeat offense – 1 week suspension.

      13.

Unauthorized stay in hostel

 1st Offense – Fine of Rs.1500 to the host.

 2nd and every repeat offense – Fine of Rs. 3000 to the host & 1 day’s suspension.

      14.

 Damage to hostel property

 1st Offense – Recovering double the cost of damage.

 2nd Offense - Recovering triple the cost of damage.

 3rd and every repeat offense - Recovering quadruple the cost of damage and 1 week suspension.

      15.

 Fights in the hostel / inside the campus

 1st Offense – The aggressor will be suspended for 1 week

 2nd Offense – The aggressor will be suspended for 2 weeks

 3rd Offense – The aggressor will be suspended for the semester

 4th Offense - The aggressor will be rusticated from the institute

      16.

 Carrying  cell phone in administrative building & during musters

 1st Offense – Detaining the cell phone for one semester

 2nd Offense - Detaining the cell phone for two semesters

 3rd Offense – Confiscating the cell phone forever

      17.

Found  riding a vehicle in or outside the campus..

 1st Offense – Rs. 2000 fine + One day’s suspension.+ detention  of the vehicle for the rest of the semester.

 2nd and every repeat offense – Rs. 2000 fine + One week suspension & detaining the vehicle for the rest of the semester.

      18.

 Using electrical appliances in cabins (Excluding computers / Laptops which are used exclusively for academic applications)

 1st Offense – Confiscating the appliance.

 2nd Offense – Confiscating the appliance.

 3rd Offense – Confiscating the appliance & 1 days suspension.

 4th and every repeat offense – Confiscating the appliance & 2 days suspension.

      19.

 Under influence of or In possession of  (even an empty bottle of) Alcohol, Cigarettes, Tobacco or any other psychotropic drug.

 1st Offense – Fine of Rs. 10000 & 2 Weeks suspension from the  hostel

 2nd Offense – Fine of Rs. 10000 & Suspension from the hostel for the rest of the semester.

 3rd Offense – Fine of Rs. 15000 & 1 year suspension from the hostel.

      20.

 Ragging case

 Handing over the offender to the police & 1 Year Suspension from the institute.

      21.

 Unauthorized interchanging of the allotted cabins

 1 Week suspension

      22.

 Forging of documents

 15 Days suspension

      23.

Harassment of or indecent behavior with girl cadets or any other ladies in or outside the Campus, either directly or by using modern electronic gadgets.(e.g. mobiles, computers etc). or helping others in doing so.

 1st Offense: 15 days suspension.

 2nd Offense: Handing over the offender to the police and 1 year suspension from the Institute.

      24.

 Bringing disrepute to the Institute due to any serious act inviting police action.

 Expulsion from the Institute.

  a) The cadets inviting the suspensions will not be eligible for campus placements.

  b) The cadets will be given a back time, which is equal to the total number of days suspended 

      during   the entire course. They have to work in the marine workshop for as many days for getting

      the CDC.

  c) Above suspension punishments will be credited in a punishment record book. The cadet will be

      actually expelled from the hostel only when 3 and above days are accumulated in the record book.

       The undersigned will have discretionary powers to change quantum of punishment.

  d) The financial punishment will be immediate. The fine has to be deposited within seven days of the

      award of the punishment. Additional fine of 20% of the original fine will be charged for every days

      delay after that. If the total fine exceeds double of the original fine, the cadet will be suspended

      from the hostel & the classes until complete fine is paid.

  e) The cadets who are suspended for one week and more will have to get their parents, submit an

      undertaking in the prescribed format and see the Principal before rejoining the hostel.

  f) The Head warden will report in writing to the Principal the cadet-wise punishments awarded, if any.

  g) Twenty credit points will be deducted for every day’s suspension. The points will be deducted

      irrespective of whether the cadet is actually expelled or not.

  h) The cadets will be expelled from the hostel for the suspensions of 1 week and above. Below this

      they will be expelled from the classes and practicals only, but they will undergo all other routines of

      the day.

 

Leave Rules

  1. Cadets are granted leave during periods of vacation which is declared by the institute.
  2. A cadet is liable for disciplinary action if he reports back late from home leave, city leave, night off etc.
  3. Cadets absent/away from training in excess of the permitted leave on whatsoever grounds may be debarred from appearing in examinations or may be removed from training on disciplinary grounds.
  4. Cadets may be granted leave on recommendation of the medical officer. A maximum of 15 days medical leave is permitted per academic year on producing proper medical certificate.
  5. A maximum of 5 night-offs are permitted in one semester after obtaining written permission in advance from the concerned authorities.
  6. All applications must be addressed to Principal and forwarded through hostel warden.
  7. In the interpretation of these rules, the Principals decision will be final.

 

Ragging in campus is strictly prohibited. An incidence of ragging is immediately acted up on and guilty is liable to be dismissed from the Institute.
