Ques:3. What is the cost of the Prospectus?
Ans:- The cost of prospectus is Rs 1,000/-. (Non-refundable)

Ans:- Yes
Ques:5. What are the important steps to be followed while filling the
application form?
Ans:-a) The completed filled application form along with Demand Draft of Rs.1000/-
will be considered only. Also write your name and contact number on reverse
side of D.D.
b) Application summary must be submitted in an envelope super-scribed with the
words
"Application for admission to B.Tech. Marine Engineering"
Or
“Application for admission to B.Sc.Nautical Science”.
Ques:6. Where I can submit my application form?
Ans:-The Completely filled application forms must be forwarded to the following
address on or before 23 May 2013 at the office by 04.00 pm.

Ques:7. How will I know if my application is received at MANET?
Ans:- For the benefit of the candidates, the following arrangements have been made
to enable the candidates to know the status of the application. Once the
application is received at MANET, a phone call or email will be made to the
candidate stating that the application has been received at MANET.This would
however be possible only if the contact information is correctly shaded in the
application form.
Ques:8. When is the entrance examination MANET “MET”?
Ans:- Our entrance examination MANET “MET” is scheduled on 26/05/2013 (Sunday) in
selected 25 cities all over India.
Ques:9. What is the syllabus for MANET “MET” Exam?
Ans:- The MANET “MET” exam is based on 10+2 syllabus, the subjects involved are
Physics, Chemistry,Mathematics, English & General Knowledge.
Ques:10. What will be the pattern of the question paper?
Ans:- The question paper will only consist of multiple choice questions.
Ques:11. Can I have the model of question paper of MANET-MET?

Ques:12. What will be the time schedule for MANET “MET”?
Ans:- The examination will be for duration of two hours, from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm.

Ques:14. After applying can I request for change of centre?
Ans:- Once the centre is allotted, the change of centre will not be entertained,under
any circumstances.
Ques:15. What should I do if I do not receive the MANET “MET “admit card by the time of the examination?
Ans:-If you do not receive admit card on time, come to your first choice Examination
Centre without any hesitation.Your admit card will be provided at Examination
Centre on Examination day.
Ques:16.On what basis will the Qualifying merit list be prepared for MANET
“MET”?
Ans:-The qualifying merit list will be prepared purely based on the marks scored by the
candidates in MANET “MET”.
Ques:17. When will be the MANET “MET” Results declared?
Ans:- The MANET “MET” Results will be declared on 08/06/2013.
Ques:18. How can I know about the MANET “MET” Results?
Ans:- Center wise entrance examination results will be available on
website:www.manetpune.com
Ques:19. I have appeared for class 10+2 exam this year. The results are not
yet declared.Can I still fill up the form and appear in MANET-MET?
Ans:- Yes, appearing candidates can also apply, you can fill the application form
leaving the blank section for class 10+2 marks.It should be filled at the time of
admission round.
Ques:20. Importance of MANET “MET” Exam?
Ans:- If you qualify in MANET- MET exam than only you will be eligible for Admission
round.
Ques:21. I have secured 59.9% in PCM in the 10+2 examination, am I eligible
to apply?
Ans:-Sorry, you are not eligible.
Ques:22. I have secured 58% in PCM in 10+2 examination, but in 2012 I am
appearing for the Improvement Examination, can I apply?
Ans:- Yes, you can apply, but at the time of counseling you should produce the proof
that you have secured 60% in PCM.
Ques:23. I have secured 60% aggregate marks in the 10+2 examination, but I
have not secured 60% in PCM, am I eligible?
Ans:- Sorry, you are not eligible.
Ques:24. I scored a very high percentage in my 10+2 examination. Will this be
taken into consideration for my admission or will this be considered on
par with my marks scored in MANET “MET” for admission?
Ans:- First you should clear the MANET-MET exam successfully & at the time of
admission round your 10+2 marks will be considered.
Ques:25. Are CET /AIEEE/ IIT JEE marks considered for admission?
Ans:- No. We take into account only the MANET “MET” scores.
Ques:26. Will my merit in any other All India Competitive exams be
considered?
Ans:- No.
Ques:27. Could you please specify the counseling dates?
Ans:- The following are the counseling dates (admission rounds) according to PCM
percentage of 10+2 Examination in batches,as detailed below:

Ques:28. Can my parents come with me to the campus during the
interview / written tests? Is there accommodation available on
campus for parents and family?
Ans:-Parents are encouraged to come along with you to the campus during the
interview and written tests. It will be a good opportunity for them to see the
campus and the type of life you are going to lead for the complete course
duration. Unfortunately, MANET cannot accommodate guests, but there are
several convenient and reasonably priced hotels in the neighboring areas.
Ques:29. When I will know the confirmation of my admission?
Ans:-Your admission will be confirmed only after Verification of original
documents,successful Medical Test, Personal Interview and Payment of First
Semester fees on the day of admission round.After confirming candidate’s name
in final admission list displayed on college notice board will be considered as
confirmed admission.

Ans:- MANET provides 1) 4 Yrs B.Tech Marine Engineering Degree Course

Ans:- Yes. Both the courses have the approval of Directorate General of Shipping,
Govt. of India, Mumbai.
Ques:34. What is the difference between B.S. and B.E./B.Tech.??
Ans:- The difference is only in the nomenclature. All are Technical degrees.
Ques:35. Is MANET recognized?
Ans:-MANET courses are approved by Directorate General of Shipping, Government Of
India, Mumbai.Degrees are awarded by Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open
University, Nasik, (The University is recipient of the International Award for
Institutional Excellence from Commonwealth of Learning, Canada.),Established by
Government of Maharashtra.
Ques:36. After applying for B.Tech Marine Engineering Degree Course, Can I
change the choice to B.Sc.Nautical Science Degree Course or Vice-
versa?
Ans:- Yes, you can do on the day of admission round. However your vision has to be
6/6 without spectacles for admission to B.Sc Nautical Science Course and you
have to clear the eyesight test according to the norms.

Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS) course?

Ans:- MANET degree courses are eligible for educational loans disbursed by banks. You
may approach any bank of your convenience located in your native place.

Ques:50. When is the Medical Test conducted? Can I get it done from my local
doctor?
Ans:- 1) The Medical Test is conducted and needs to be done by a DGS and MANET
approved doctor during the admission round only.
Ques:51. Whether the eyesight vision 6/6 in both eyes is compulsory for B.Sc.
Nautical course?
Ans:-Yes, Candidates for the B.Sc. Nautical Science Course must have unaided 6/6
vision in both eyes without spectacles.
Candidates in their own interest, it would be prudent to get the eyesight
checked from a qualified Eye specialist as per the eyesight requirement of the
courses.This will help candidates to avoid any last minute embarrassment during
the admission round.

for Deck Cadet.
Ques:59. How long can one serve in Merchant Navy ?
Ans:- As per current DG Shipping regulations, subject to medical fitness,personnel
upto 65 years of age can work onboard ships.

Ans:- Candidates are not allowed to keep four / two wheelers on campus.Bicycles may
