MANET Library serves as a resource center under the Norms of ISO 9001-2008, aims to develop comprehensive collection useful for faculty members & cadets of the institute & provides an efficient dissemination of information. Library Collection: B. Tech. MARINE: B.Tech section has 7000 books which are organized as per Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme'. Reference books among those are 700 in numbers, holding various Marine Engineering Codes, Manuals, Important Titles like Reed's series & other allied subjects as well as fictions & Nonfictions with one copy of text books each . Library also have a CD's collection Comprising of MAN and B&W, Safety at Sea etc. Besides this, library also subscribes around 26 periodicals out of that 14 are technical & 12 non-technical, major among those are Fairplay, Fairplay Solutions, Seatrade, Imo News,Times Shipping Journal etc.
B Sc. Nautical: MANET Nautical section has 800 books. Library already subscribing to some foreign journals & some Indian Journals.
Library Working Hours: Library is kept open on all Working Days. Working Hours are as follows: Monday to Sat-0900 Hrs to 1630 Hrs Thu & Sun off.
Library Services: Routine Library Services like Issue/Return is done with the help of SLIM21 Library Software. Library also provides various other services to its clientele like CAS, SDI, Document Delivery and Newspaper Clipping & on demand online Searching Services. Daily Newspaper Service is rendered through daily newspapers, to all users of MANET Library.Library also has a facility of READING ROOM having the seating capacity of around 110.
Library Rules & Regulations: 1) Library will issue 2 books to a cadet for 7 days & will be reissued depending upon its demand.
2) A fine Rs.5/- will be imposed per day per book on any cadet returning an overdue book.
3) Borrower will be held responsible for materials out on loan if the material is lost, an immediate report should be made to the LIBRARIAN a borrower is allowed to either replace the book lost or damaged by purchasing latest edition by himself.
4) Library has a separate REFERENCE SECTION; those books are strictly for the Library reference. |
