A National Conference on 'Fluid & Electrical Machines in Shipping Industry" was held on our campus on the 16th and 17th of February 2007, Hon. Dr. Rajan M. Welukar Vice Chancellor,
Y.C.M.O.U. Nasik was the Chief Guest on the said occasion, In
his key note address he was happy that MANET and YCMOU were working in tandem. This relationship, which has been cemented with lime, will flourish as both the Institution are in hands of great visionaries with a vision for a better and prosperous tomorrow. His words of advice and appreciation were appreciated by one and all present.
Hon. Shri. Ajoy Chatterjee, Chief Surveyor-cum-Addl., D.G.Shipping, Govt. of India in his speech on 6th April 2006 expressed his
approval and satisfaction with the facilities being provided to the cadets. He was overjoyed to learn that the cadets, besides their
engineering technicalities were also engaged in value addition activities as also in spiritual and real time activities.
The Ex-Chief Surveyor Shri. b. K. Biswas was also of the same opinion although we were honoured by his visit in April 2007.
In beginnlng of 2007 we were privileged with the visit of Shri. A. Banerjee the Chief M.M.D. Surveyor. After his visit to the campus and the "Ship-in Campus", he was
completely satisfied with extant state of affairs as the college W S amply equipped to serve the marine industry by impartig the best
possible training schedules and facililies for the future mariners.
Since the inception of the Academy MANET has had the honour to be host to a plethora of dignitaries. Among the distinguished guests
Shri.G. S. Sahani, D.G. Shipping, Govt. of India on his visit to our campus was overawed by the state-of-art facilities being offered
here to the cadets and went on to state that MANET was amongst the best Marine Institutes In the Country".
"Shri S. Shriram, Managing Director, Wilhelmsen Ship Management [Formerly Barber Ship Management India Pvt.Ltd.]". came to personally
see for himself the infrastructure that the college had to offer to the cadets. His company has been a major player in absorbing a
substantial chunk of our successful cadets. He was hopeful of d longtime relationship between MANET & Barber Ship Management on his
tete-a-tete with the cadets he made them aware of the actual scenarios on-board-ship so as familiarize them with the extant state of
affairs in the shipping industry.
Besides Barber Shipping, MITSUI and MANET have entered into an MOU for training of personnel of MITSUI in MANET. The agreement was
ratified by Cptn. Soichi Hiratsuka and Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad on the 24th of September 2006. Since then a number of batches of MITSUI
have successfully, passed out with content and distinction.
