MANET celebrated WORLD MARITIME DAY on 27 th Sept 2007 with great zeal and enthusiasm.

Following competitions were held

• Safety poster drawing.
• Slogan based on Marine Industry, Marine Pollution, Environmental

Protection.

• Speech on following subjects.
• Shipping: Past, today & tomorrow.
• India’s roll in shipping
• Global warming & shipping.

The theme of the day was, Merchant Navy:

RIGHT CAREER, BRIGHT FUTURE

Mr. Santosh Shinde, Chief Engineer, MOT First class, Ex. Ship’s surveyor & engineer, MMD Mumbai was Chief guest of the function. In his speech he guided the cadets about IMO’s environmental policies & marine Engineers roll in its implementation. He also guided the cadets about MMD examinations.

Mr. Nandu Phaujdar, Ex Radio Officer was also attended this function who gave splendid performance on accordion. Finally the winners were awarded trophies at the hands of chief guest Mr. Santosh Shinde & Principal Prof. P.P. Kanegonkar; Vote of thanks was given by Mr. Ravindra K. Kakade, Supdt. Ship-in-campus.
